![]() Sherwood is a perfect place to raise a family. We have a low crime rate with full-time police protection along with county and state police. Sherwood has a volunteer fire department and an ambulance service staffed by qualified EMT's that use up-to-date equipment. In just the past year, a medical clinic was opened to service Sherwood and the surrounding areas. Sherwood has a well staffed public school for students K-12. A high percentage of our graduates continue their education at two and four year colleges. We have graduated Doctors, Lawyers, Engineers, Nurses, Pharmacists, Constuction Workers,Teachers, Business Executives, and General Laborers. Our students participate in extra-curricular activities such as football, speech, basketball, track, baseball, drama, band, chorus, and others. Sherwood has a very nice City Park with access to electricity and running water to accommodate campers. The City Park is the location for most of our summer recreation activities. The summer recreation program offers services to all the area youths including swimming, softball, youth baseball for ages 5-18, and an amateur baseball team, the Sherwood Yanks, that competes in the southeast Saskatchewan, Saskota Baseball League. There are numerous organizations that provide help to the surrounding communities, including a very active American Legion Post. They sponsor an annual Memorial Day Service that is unique in that we celebrate with our Canadian counter-parts. Sherwood has three churches to accommodate Catholic, Lutheran, and Methodist denominations. Our Savior Luthern Church Centennial |
